In agreement with our industry and trade association partners, and with the trade fair advisory committee, Messe Düsseldorf has decided to cancel both interpack and components 2021, scheduled to take place from 25 February to 3 March, due to the restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic. On 25 November, the German Government and states resolved to implement stricter measures in Germany, and to extend these measures into the new year. This unfortunately does not give cause for hope that the situation will improve significantly over the course of the coming months. This will affect all Messe Düsseldorf events within this period of time.
To date, we have done everything we can to do justice to interpack’s tremendous importance for the processing and packaging industry, even in times of a pandemic – above all because we have received your encouragement as exhibitors in support of a face-to-face event and have a hygiene concept that has been tried and tested in practice in place to protect everyone involved.
In our letter dated 10 November, we granted an extraordinary right of termination, thus allowing you to choose whether or not you would like to participate in interpack or components 2021. In the context of the current pandemic situation, we were ultimately unable to reach any other assessment: the current uncertainty in the industry is too great to allow us to hold an interpack event that can meet the standards of a leading international trade fair. The next interpack and components will now take place in May 2023, according to plan.
If you are among the companies who made use of the extraordinary right of termination, we will apply the 25% cancellation fee in full against your participation in interpack or components 2023. We also offered the option of securing your 2023 stand space with a down payment of 40% or more. In addition we will apply this amount in full against participation in interpack or components 2023.
Until the new interpack and components 2023 exhibitors have been approved, your company will remain part of the database at www.interpack.com or www.packaging-components.com – even if you have made use of your extraordinary right of termination.
